Top | | White House Recognizes OHLA Efforts to Save Lives in Hotels with NARCAN
The White House has recognized OHLA for taking the lead in a national challenge to businesses across the county to save lives by committing to increase training on and access to lifesaving opioid overdose reversal medications by promoting the use of NARCAN (naloxone) in hotel & lodging businesses.
OHLA Supports Measure to Benefit Victims of Trafficking
OHLA will offer testimony in support of Ohio House Bill 385, legislation that will expunge certain non-violent crimes for victims of human trafficking. Anti-human trafficking activity is one of OHLA’s continuing priorities.
Court Voids Damaging Franchise Rule on Joint Employment
A federal judge vacated a rule that would make franchisors joint employers of franchisees’ employees. For now, the new rule will not go into effect and a 2020 rule will be reinstated requiring “direct and immediate control” over the essential terms and conditions of employment of another entity to establish joint-employer status.
